Identities Options

After being given this project i decided to look into search of the options more clearly this is the info i was given:
Option One
Nottingham Trent University Multimedia BA/BSc Course
Three years. Wide range of multimedia disciplines covered. Student led emphasis. The philosophy is that the course won’t get in the way of the student’s interest. It seeks to introduce, explore and reflect on multimedia theory, multimedia practice and multimedia practitioners.
Course Structure
Each year has a successful principles and Practice module. This module seeks to provide wide ranging contextual overview of the Multimedia discipline.

Year One- Common first year. Narrative module and identities module.
Year Two- The exploring Multimedia module runs all year long. This module is made up of three components. The student is able to choose which of the three from nine components choices they wish to study.
Year Three- Client Project Module. Personal Research Project Module. The student is able to choose the subject for each of these modules.

i thought this was a very good option and the multimedia as course could definitely do with a revamp as it is very dull and uninteresting there is definite potential for improvement to promote this course better and therefore bring in more students onto this course. there is definite a lot of scope to display your ideas too with this option.
Option 2
Trent Media
Trent Media consists of Fly FM, Trent TV and Platform. Both Nottingham universities involved. http://www.trentstudents.org/trentmedia.
An awareness raising exercise as well as a content producing opportunity.

i think this option allows you to look at the different aspects of media and how they could be advertised differently. i also think that there is a lot of potential and scope within this option i think that this could also be a lot of work incorporating all three aspects of Trent Media using one advertising package. i think that i could bring a lot of colour and interesting ideas to this option.

Option Three
E Stings 4
www.channel4.com/estings

E Stings 4 is an annual commission competition run by Channel Four in conjunction with Creative Review magazine.
E4 is one of Channel Four televisions digital offshoot channels. The overall winner gets £15,000 from E4 to make a series of indents. Two runners up get £1500 worth of kit of their own choice. Every entrant gets £5 off a one-year Creative Review subscription and the top ten entries as chosen by the judging panel get a free one-year subscription to Creative review. Winner gets an exhibition at a major London gallery, ell entries will be showcased on the E STINGS site.
See the website above or Creative Review magazine December issue for details.
E STINGS submission deadline is Thursday 15th March 2007.
IDENTITIES submission deadline is Thursday 10th May 2007.
The submission date for material for this competition means that in order to be eligible for the £15,000 commission any stings would have to be produced first and sent off for judging. The other expected supporting identity package material would be produced purely for assessment in this module. All material (including any stings) would then be submitted according to the submission details on the coursework brief.

this option doesn't really appeal to me as i think it is a lot of work and i don't think i have the skills required in order to meet the earlier deadline. this option is more of a competition to the TV and i think this a lot of pressure when i have very little skills required. so i think i'm going to stick to the other one of the other options
